What an enthusiastic bunch of trainee embalmers I had in P4/5 today. We worked in groups to order instructions on ‘How to mummify an orange’. Then we set to work to follow these, removing the insides of the orange, then drying it before filling the orange with a mixture of salt, cinnamon and cloves, then wrapping it up in bandages. Now we just have to wait to see how successful we were. It was a messy job, but lots of fun.
